​Characteristics of resilience in the context of disaster management manifest themselves in different stages: the preparation prior to a disaster, the actions during the disaster, and the recovery and rehabilitation after the event. This paper explores the most recent literature on disaster resilience and social capital. The paper begins by summarizing the concepts of resilience and social capital. Next, a categorization of recent literature according to the article's focus on the disaster phase(s). This is followed by a summary of the findings presented according to each disaster phase. Finally, an in-depth look into the relationship between social capital and disaster resilience in recent literature (2013-2018) will be presented.
